Such a big weekend for my little girl. On Saturday, Brielle, turned 10! Double digits!!! This is huge for a momma who has a hard time seeing her babies grow. I know it's hard on many of us to see our children grow, right? We are entering the tween years at ten years old! Eek! That's scary.
On B's birthday, we celebrated with a small family party {we'll do a 'friend parties' at a later date}. Since we don't have immediate family here right now (her other local grandparents leave each summer so it's just us), it meant so much to have my mom fly in to be with her. This year, it wasn't going to happen with crazy schedules and Brielle was pretty heart-broken. But grandma made it work and was sure to be here to celebrate this big day. We didn't tell the kids about the surprise visit. The morning of Brielle's birthday we ate donuts and got ready for a day of laser tagging. On the way to laser tag, Jeff made a sneaky detour to the airport. The kids thought he took a wrong turn - Jeff NEVER gets lost so the kids were laughing but still had no clue. We pulled up to the terminal to find someone waving excitedly at us. I wish I could've captured the kid's faces but I wanted to experience the moment with them an not be hidden behind a camera. I just wanted to soaked it in. Brielle was absolutely stunned! Ty was laughing saying 'I wondered who this old lady was waving at me. It happens to me a lot. But then I realized it was grandma' The best surprise ever. And yes, we all went laser tagging after for 4 hours (even grandma played every game). Brielle said it was the best birthday present ever!!
We went to Sedona when my mom was here too. So I'll be blogging part II of her visit next.
