We woke up this morning and cooked our weekend breakfast of pancakes with fresh cut fruit. In the background daddy had his Ipod going and the kids were dancing in their chairs to the music. I love that they have such a connection with music. When a country song came on daddy took my hand and asked me to dance - I danced. Once the song ended Tyler asked if we could play another 'cowboy song'. He ran upstairs and got his cowboy hat and began dancing, Brielle saw and joined him. It was so cute to see him mimic daddy and I dancing by spinning Brielle around. I grabbed my camera that was sitting nearby and got these pictures - not the best quality or composition but at least I caught a little bit of that moment.
Eerie August Morning
Finally, it started cooling down a bit here in the South. I think we’re to normal temperatures for this time of the year…whew! Last night we had some much needed rain and with that came thunderstorms and a lightening show. It made for a fun night actually. Around 8pm it hit our area and the kids were cozy in their p.j’s jumping around with excitement. I was trying to submit an order when they came running in to ask me to watch the ‘show’ with them. Daddy had laid blankets on the floor with pillows in the bonus room and we all laid together listening to the ‘boomer’s’ and watching the lightening show. Every time the room lit up from the lightening, Brielle would say ‘oh awesome, wasn’t that awesome?’ And Tyler kept saying ‘Isn’t this the best show ever?’ It was a memory that I’ll always remember… we were so comfortable and peaceful we all almost fell asleep there for the night.
Anyway, the grass was wet from the rains last night, so Brielle wasn’t real excited for me to have her out on the grass this morning for these shots. These are the only 2 I snapped before she hurried to the house saying ‘Okay, I’m all done, bye momma, Briella’s all done, okay’ She’s definately a girl who knows what she wants and what she doesn’t want.

One Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed...
Thankfully she didn't fall off and bump her head. While her big brother was at a birthday party, Brielle decided to play in his room. He has always encouraged her to jump on the bed (the two of them together) even though I've told them that it's dangerous and guided them down. Now this has become Brielle's 'thing' when she goes into Tyler's room to play. It's a battle I don't know if I can win...
My World with Kids...
This morning I was looking around the house with the thought of 'organization'. Having two young children makes this a challenge. My house is a world of metallic sparkling hotwheels, plastic action figures, undressed baby dolls, random game pieces, princess dress up clothes, colorful markers, well used play-doh, books upon books and many other all well loved items.

Quotes & a Little Red Tutu
We're getting back to a good routine now that I've been home for just over a week. Each day we've been heading to the gym and the kids stay in the activity center and play with their peers, while I have a decompression, time-to-myself, work out session. Well on the way there today Tyler notices Chuck E. Cheese off to the far left and he informs me that Chuck E. Cheese is such a great place, and he adds "Did you know that Chuck E. Cheese is also a proud supporter of PBS kids?".... oh my...the things he says. A few minutes later he looks over at Brielle and said 'Wow Mom, Brielle is changing. She's growing up... wow, she's turning into a beautiful girl.' It was so cute to hear him say these things. Anyway, I thought I'd share...
Tyler would have nothing to do with my camera today so, I took Brielle and sat her on an antique chair we have, dressed in a cute little tutu -which she loved. She didn't enjoy being on the chair however, and this was the only shot I got of her. She immediately climbed down and went off to play with her big brother who was running around with his cool blue cape.
My Little Problem Solver...
Tyler found the perfect solution for cooling off in the heat...
Why haven't we all thought of that?

Tutu's, Tricycles & Tears
What a combination...Brielle woke up wanting to wear her ballet tutu - she tearfully said 'Look so pretty, as she pointed to it from her crib'. At 24 months she already is demanding to wear specific outfits, I'm sure it's only going to get worse. We ventured out this morning before the extreme heat and humidity hit, it was already a hot 92 degrees and the dew point was getting higher.
Anyway, she's obsessed with her tricycle right now. She's working out the mechanics of making herself move with the pedals, she goes a few feet then she tearfully gets upset as she tries so hard to push with her little feet. I snapped some shots of her many expressions on her trike this morning.
I disappeared...
Then re-appeared... ha. Actually I've been working late into the night editing client photos. Sorry for those of you who are waiting to see your pictures! I'm getting there and also working on finalizing some things on my new website so that it will be easier for you all to view your photos there. It's a juggling act but fun for sure. Thanks for your patience :) Please stay tuned...
So Brielle....
We're back home in South Carolina where the heat index is high! It's a 100 degrees + today and the sun was shining until about an hour ago when the thunder clouds started rolling in. Tyler and Brielle get so excited when they hear thunder - okay, so Tyler gets excited and Brielle runs to me ready to burst into tears until I hold her and tell her everything is okay.
Tyler was off in search of the storm while Brielle and I watched from the front porch (don't worry, we didn't see lightning - we were being cautious).
Anyway, Brielle has been adamant since she found her old pink knit baby cap that she wear it at all times (which she never wore as a baby and is too small for her now) . She even made sure she had it snug on her head during her nap. Yes, we're currently in the hottest month of the year here in the south and my daughter insists on wearing this pink knit hat. All I can do is go with it... silly girl. I had to snap these pictures of her in her hat on the front porch today before the thunder storm.

Tyler not thrilled with the camera pointing in his direction... Body language - "I'm not looking at the camera and no way am I going to show you a smile".
Ohh, here we go - a glimpse of your smile... I love it T.
